Ed Morse is currently seeking an Automotive Dispatcher to join our team.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an organized and efficient Automotive Service Dispatcher to implement and maintain an effective dispatch system within our service department. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum productivity by scheduling shop work according to dealership policies and technician skill levels. You will prioritize and manage comebacks, maintain repair order documentation, and facilitate seamless communication with customers and team members.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
Implement and maintain an effective dispatch system to ensure optimal workflow in the service department.Ensure that all repairs are assigned to technicians in an equal and fair manner.Provides technical support for technicians when necessary.Review hard copies of repair orders submitted by technicians to ensure the assigned work is completed properly. Open and close repair orders efficiently, ensuring proper tracking and documentation.Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.Manages department performance using tools such as the daily operating control (DOC), efficiency and productivity control, comeback reports, warranty reports, telephone surveys and monthly forecasts.Establishes and maintains customer follow-up program to confirm satisfaction with the service experience.Coordinate parts requirements with the parts department; promptly contact special-order parts customers to schedule appointments upon receipt.Monitors shop condition, including cleanliness, safety, and the condition of shop equipment. Reports problems to the service manager or dealer.Maintains a safe work environment.Qualifications Previous experience in automotive dispatching, logistics, or a related field preferred.Basic understanding of automotive repair processes and terminology.Experience with point-of-sale and parts & service management computer software or the ability to quickly learn due to experience with other systems.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with customers and team members.
