We are seeking a highly motivated Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for order taking, scheduling, dispatching, and maintaining customer relations. This role requires a strong focus on safety policies, efficient delivery controls, and problem-solving techniques. You will monitor external factors such as weather and traffic to optimize routing and handle unusual and difficult customer complaints.
Responsibilities
+ Comply with all company’s Safety Policies, attend department and site safety meetings, and participate in safety committees and programs (Near miss reporting, STAs, Workplace Exams, Pre-Shift Inspections, etc.)
+ Responsible for order taking, scheduling, dispatching, and customer relations.
+ Maintain efficient delivery controls through proper scheduling and accurate order entry into the dispatch system.
+ Monitor external factors such as weather and traffic to ensure optimized routing of resources.
+ Resolve transportation conflicts and handle unusual and difficult customer complaints.
+ Provide customer support to ensure maximum satisfaction.
+ Employ problem-solving techniques to resolve complex issues.
+ Develop professional criteria of when to engage other parties.
+ Maintain a positive attitude and strong communication skills with customers and other departments.
+ Successfully handle over 100 calls in a shift.
+ Work in a team setting and achieve team and company goals.
+ Multi-task and complete daily workload in a timely fashion.
+ Maintain good working relationships with coworkers and outside agencies’ personnel.
+ Work safely with a sense of urgency.
Essential Skills
+ Dispatching experience
+ Data entry skills
+ Call center experience
+ Logistics experience, particularly in assisting ready mix drivers with routing and live-time communication
+ Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
+ Strong mathematical skills
+ Strong interpersonal skills
+ Problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills
+ Attention to detail and organizational skills
+ Ability to work independently and under pressure
+ Strong time management skills
+ Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate’s degree or concrete dispatch experience required
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred
+ Experience in logistics of moving products from Point A to Point B
+ Embracement and enhancement of performance-based Safety Culture
Work Environment
The role will be based in a call center environment with around 70 representatives. You will have multiple screens to assist with the routing of trucks and data entry into the CRM system. For the first 30 days, the position requires on-site work from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. After training, there will be an opportunity to work one day from home per week. The department currently has the most need for ready mix coordination, with 29 people in this department.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
