Dispense Process Engineer

As our Sealant Process Engineer, you will design and implement process-driven, innovative sealant and adhesive application solutions to meet the expectations of FANUC America customers. You will perform process engineering analysis and feasibility studies of sealer automation equipment required for the release of customer quotations and execute FANUC’s sealer and adhesive systems business requirements by utilizing the information obtained to meet customer needs and expectations in the field. Often, you may be responsible for implementing FANUC dispense products or services, or a new type of technology or process. You must be a customer-focused problem-solver who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams and has experience with process, robot programming, and ideally, FANUC America robots. In essence, you’ll work with customers to develop software based on their needs, work hand-and-hand with them at our customer development and validation labs at FANUC, then see the results with them at their plant. Primary responsibilities will include * Develop robot programs written in KAREL/C++ (UNIX-embedded software)), TTP+ (Teach Pendent Programs), PMC (Programmable Machine Controller) for FANUC’s controller system * Development of new and/or future customer product dispense features and maintain ongoing software release support * Go to customer / integration site to help setup, support and provide training on our dispense application * Define future robotic application process solutions through evaluation of: customer needs, internal capabilities, competitive solutions, technology advancements, and past process solutions * Write detailed robot dispense specifications and programming guides with customers * Update and modify design and engineering documentation as required * Support strong customer relationships with our Integrators & Customers * Adherence to established coding standards to produce clean, clear, well-documented, and easily-maintained code * Act as a key customer contact for product related issues, supporting execution * Perform process evaluations, feasibility studies, and proposal support prior to the release * Design and implement processes using robots, and a wide variety of applicator products. * Perform customer demonstrations and develop accurate analysis and presentation materials on the results of demonstrations * Create and program various offline simulations of sealer automation systems Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education * Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science * 2 years of experience as an Engineer or equivalent role in an automotive, manufacturing, or automation environment * Ability to write general Basic / C+ + * Ability to write FANUC Teach Pendant programs (basic robot programs) * Must be able to present comprehensive technical evaluations and recommendations to customers Preferred * 3+ years’ experience with Robotics or in Automation Environment * Experience with industrial robots and/or computer-controlled automation * Strong aptitude for software and software development tools * Strong aptitude for technical writing and typing skills * Strong ANSI-C language coding skills * Strong Real-Time Operating System and embedded software development skills * Strong FANUC robot experience including KAREL or C++ We offer market competitive pay and benefits programs, as well as opportunities for advancement, knowledge and skill development, and recognition of individual achievements.
