Job Description/Responsibilities

The Distillery Supervisor - TGD, oversees production employees to ensure accurate and timely production of sprits while meeting quality, safety, service, and budgeting requirements. Responsibilities include supervision of team members, tracking and ordering of raw materials, coordinating safety and compliance activities with warehouse, distillery, and grounds operations, scheduling production, and staffing to accomplish production requirements/goals. The Supervisor will ensure that processes and employees adhere to compliance standards as set by federal, state, and local agencies as well as dictated by company policy. The Supervisor will distribute daily work to employees, check inbound and outbound shipments, verify warehouse inventories, check daily work, schedule outbound shipments, ensures that all outbound and inbound shipments are processed in a timely manner.

Make sure that we follow the dump instructions precisely. Optimize the bar-coding procedures, and champion the Warehouse Management System implementation. Adhere to the aging whiskey planning process, to ensure supply of properly aged barrels is available. Ensures proper entry, dump, and transfer instructions. Manages barrel and raw material yields. Ensures routine and preventative maintenance is performed on all Warehouse equipment and leads the Warehouse teams in the best practices for the current and future warehouse operations. Manage barrels in the system for experimental whiskeys, maximizing use of system 21, AS400 and access database.Manage our barrel quality to maximize our final product quality. Active in barrel management, institutional knowledge transfer and managing the daily activities in the barrel warehouses. Assist in Public Relations efforts. Assist in managing both barrel quality and allocations, maximizing product for finished goods (aged at TGD) within the company. Supervise defect-free distillery operations at TGD, leading to high quality ingredients throughout Sazerac distilleries. Create and develop seasonal planning for grounds. Manage the Used / Personal Barrel Program.Lead the safety program in the barrel warehouse and distillery, including ensuring timely completion of all safety work orders. Ensure all employees in the department receive required company and departmental safety training.Ensure that a completed performance development plan is created and maintained for all aging warehouse employees that will improve their performance on competencies identified. Implement a PDS for myself that will move me toward improving at least 1 competency. Develop a Career plan for myself that will allow me to achieve my overall career objectives.  Continue to work on existing career development plans that have been previously set up.  Develop a Career plan for direct reports that will allow them to achieve. Develop our systems to identify future supervisory, leads, and crewing needs in the aging warehouse and distillery.Improve the Distillery and Aging Warehouse operations at TGD by ensuring that the systems promote quality, consistency and efficiency. Standardize reporting systems across the Distilleries and Aging Warehouses. Reporting should include quality, yield, raw materials, barrel inventory, age profile and barrel location data. Validate finish goods inventory levels. Maintain incoming/outgoing barrel schedules, and Distillery production schedule. Utilize ongoing continuous improvement efforts (Standard Work, Visual Management, etc.) to drive daily results on critical metrics in both areas, such as Barrel Yields.Develop the automatic KPI reporting system for the Aging Warehouse operations, and Distillery operations. Ensure the data is accurate and timely. Assist in developing the QA program for the Aging Warehouse operations that include barrel inspections, leak hunting program and warehouse structural inspections. Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices. Manage integration of vendor record keeping, merge and update old technology and systems.  Streamline reporting processes and management of operations. Timely delivery, management and documentation of sampling. WMS integration of sampling.Ensure Warehouse Department meets regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and TTB regulations. Through personal example and direct management, create an environment that supports self-directed work teams and productive employee relations while maintaining compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements. Lead the warehouse and distillery team in implementing and documenting the SOPs, optimizing each process in the department.
