The department of Translational In Vivo Models (TIM) within Sanofi R&D has a unique opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in Molecular Biology and/or Genetics to work on projects related to the development of transgenic mouse models. We are a global function that supports in vivo research across all therapeutic areas and sites. Within TIM, the Transgenic Model and Technology (TMT) department provides state of the art, efficient and effective genetically-engineered models. We are looking for a highly-skilled individual to lead a team to inform core activities, technical developments and ultimately move our discovery projects forward.

Main Responsibilities:
Develop state of the art in vivo models for Discovery and Development in all Therapeutic Areas
Apply your acumen in Transgenesis and CRISPR to devise and execute appropriate experimental strategies
Identify and evaluate new models and technologies that enable target validation, POC and efficacy studies
Manage projects that are design-to-delivery or CRO-ready
Apply your expertise to advise the Head of Transgenic Division and other members of the key Drug Discovery program
Progress working relationships with CROs for development and delivery of models
Identify partners for model acquisition and license agreements
Budget planning and management
Supervise and train colleagues at the forefront of developments
Contribute to Sanofi culture
Requirements & Qualifications:
Ph.D. with 5+ years experience in Molecular Genetics or similar disciplines
Expertise in developing transgenic animal models, particularly engineering genetic alleles with CRISPR/CAS and other genetic engineering systems.
Experience in both the theoretical and practical/technical methodologies necessary to lead a state-of-the-art transgenic unit that generates novel rodent genetic models.
Strong Project Management and contracting skills to successfully oversee personnel and multiple projects.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, organizational stakeholders and CROs.
Excellent management/leadership skills to work collaboratively with associates
Budget planning and accounting skills
Must be self-motivated, able to lead/thrive in a team environment and be comfortable working on and prioritizing multiple projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
