The Distribution Center (DC) Planner is responsible maximizing the delivery of orders for direct-to-consumer and retail stores to ensure they ship within 24 hours of receipt by analyzing historical data to wave/schedule orders in an efficient manner. This role focuses on optimizing logistics operations, inventory management, transportation planning, and coordinating with various departments to meet customer demand while minimizing costs. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in supply chain planning, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Owns the execution of scheduling/waving product based on the direction of the Distribution Planning Manager to optimize delivery to our stores within 24-48 hours of demand generation.Supports executing systematic waves for off-shifts to ensure there is a consistent flow of work for the production teams that matches the agreed upon capacity of each department.Owns reviewing all orders aged greater than 24 hours, and investigating what is required to promptly ship the orders in partnership with operations leadership team.Is the SME (subject-matter-expert) in the DC’s waving strategy and implementation changes to waving templates as customer requirements change.Must partner with other DCs operations leaders daily to align on capacity to ensure the correct number of orders are begin released and shipped in the correct order.Owns reviewing the site’s capacity plan to provide feedback to the operations leadership team if there is a risk it will not support customer demand.Must support reviewing supplies weekly to provide feedback to procurement manager on any risks of product that might run out and needs to be re-ordered.Assist with departmental workflow as needed by the site leadership team.Drive continuous improvement strategies within department and across the entire network.Communicate issues or problems quickly to supervisors and operations managers.Assist in resolving issues and solving problems by making suggestions and partnering with supervisors, operations managers and other departments.Assist in Sneaker Finder and DTC when needed.Must become the onsite WM SME for operations and develop expertise within production control team.Ability to respond with a sense of urgency and work in a fast-paced environment.Work with co-workers in a professional, respectful, cooperative, and courteous manner.All other duties as assigned Qualifications

Required to sit (stationary position) at a computer workstation and/or desk for a full shift.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required communicate using various methods.Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling and moving weights of 5 – 25 pounds constantly and up to 65 pounds occasionally.Must have ability to reach above/below shoulder level for up to two-thirds of a full shift and also perform tasks involving repetitive motion for a full shift.Based on business necessity associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that require different physical demands.

 

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in STEM related field or 4+ years of distribution planning experience requiredBachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Data analytics, and/or Finance/Accounting preferredMust have strong excel experience, and ability to analyze large amounts of data requiredCertifications in data analytics, APICs, Lean manufacturing, and/or 6-sigma preferredComprehensive experience working with Microsoft Office including ExcelExperience with WM (warehouse management) systems, specifically Manhattan preferredExperience designing and implementing replenishment strategies preferredStrong experience building reporting in Power BI, excel, SQL, and/or python highly preferredHigh level language, presentation, and math skills required Benefits

The annual base salary range is $50,000 - $55,000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
