Ferguson is currently seeking a General Manager for our Market Distribution Center in Grand Prairie, TX. The General Manager will drive associate engagement, safety, productivity, and continuous process improvements for a multi-shift, high volume B2B, B2C, Branch replenishment Market Distribution Center operation across all streams of functional activity.

The Grand Prairie facility is located just outside of Dallas and is 500K square feet with oversight over a team of 150 hourly associates and 11 salaried associates.

The Grand Prairie Market Distribution Center is a new build / greenfield site that will be opening the summer of 2025!

The Opportunity:

To lead and inspire the development of associates and management team by demonstrating a strong proven understanding of distribution operations and the ability to “bring out the best” in our people through empowerment and team member engagement while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsible for setting and achieving a safe work environment, our quality standards and engaging the team to deliver productivity goals for the Distribution Center.

Responsibilities:

The hiring, development, and retention of associates to ensure we maintain a culture of engaged team members who are highly motivated to deliver continuous improvement. The right leader will also create and internal succession plan and development team member skills.

Develop a strong culture of collaboration and high associate engagement while building a best-in-class operating environment.

Navigate change and achieve high levels of customer service while balancing operational requirements in an extremely collaborative environment

Ensure all functions operate at levels which exceed our customer’s needs and establish financial and operational goals.

Recommend policies and programs which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability of the operation.

Ensure the safety and security of the facility in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Enforces all policies, procedures, and regulations as set forth by Ferguson.

Committed to continual learning with respect to new operating methods as well as information technology impacting distribution operations and safety.

Qualifications:

This position requires a result oriented, high energy, dynamic individual with high energy, emotional intelligence, and insightfulness to work and thrive in a fast paced, high growth Distribution Center.

Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, engineering or a related field. MBA / higher level degree preferred but not required.

10+ years direct management/leadership experience in a big box operating environment, including a salaried workforce in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment

E-commerce fulfillment experience (direct to consumer).

Extensive experience with automated WMS, TMS systems, and other mechanized processes.

Experience with material handling and packaging equipment to include Autostore, conveyance, boxing, and wrapping equipment.

Prior experience working in an LMS/Labor or Engineered standard environment

Excellent proactive communication skills with all levels of management and staff

Experience with activity-based performance metrics, process improvement, and lean thinking with a track record of delivering ‘outstanding operations and performance.

Ability to collaborate with business leaders and peers across the organization to anticipate, identify, recommend, and implement creative operational and customer service solutions.

Decisive, fair, and consistent approach to associate communication and interaction.

Strong customer service and collaborative approach.

Pay Range:

$9,409.50 - $17,467.50

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
