The Distribution Center Lead contributes to Mattress Firm's success by leading a team of warehouse associates to complete
daily department tasks. These include receiving incoming product, picking and filling orders, packing and shipping orders, and
ensuring proper storage of inventory. This individual communicates with customers to ensure World Class Service is provided
and always operates according to safety policies and procedures as well as proper brand representation.
Essential Responsibilities
• Leads and communicates to a team of warehouse associates to complete daily department tasks and company goals
effectively and efficiently.
• Loads and unloads merchandise from delivery trucks and vendor shipments.
• Stages deliveries.
• Maintains supplies, parts, and equipment inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed
parts; placing and receiving orders.
• Participates in all inbound and outbound quality assurance processes.
• Ensures accuracy of vendor shipments.
• Maintains inventory control and performs physical inventory counts.
• Professionally communicates purchase order discrepancies with vendors.
• Assists in customer pickups, providing exceptional customer service.
• Maintains grounds by picking up papers and trash; cleaning parking lot and entrance to building.
• Ensures cleanliness of offices, bathrooms, warehouse floor, truck docks and aisles through mopping, sweeping, and
washing.
• Removes trash daily by emptying trash containers; transports materials to disposal area; recycles materials.
• Cleans and sanitizes product per Company standard operating procedure.
• Inspects products for defects and damages when receiving or shipping.
• Monitors shipments and deliveries and prepares, processes, and organizes paperwork relating to shipping and receiving of
orders.
• Utilizes reports to maintain knowledge of the warehouse project status.
• Audits and maintains delivery tracking system.
• Operates and maintains order pickers and warehouse equipment.
• May operate other specialized equipment to move and distribute freight.
• Uses proper safety equipment and maintains a safe working environment by ensuring that all safety policies and
procedures are adhered to.
• Completes all required training modules and certifications prior to due date.
• Follows all Company policies and executes Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate
brand representation.
• Communicates any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations
• Execute team member performance improvement plans, progressively discipline and terminations when appropriate per
Company policy
• Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts
Non Essential Responsibilities
• Maintains stock and merchandise area, keeping it organized and clean.
• Executes company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Education
High School diploma or equivalent

1+ Years Experience in Warehouse

Pay Range:
