**Our Development Program**
In this program, you'll receive the training and coaching needed to become a Distribution Center (DC) Area Manager. Here's what you can expect:
+ A hands-on, 12-week training and onboarding experience where you'll be placed in a distribution operations area to begin applying your skills and knowledge.
+ A dedicated mentor to guide and support you throughout the training and beyond.
+ Opportunities to shadow various distribution teams and learn from their expertise.
+ A 100% on-site experience that will require an ability to be on-site every day at your assigned DC location. The schedule may vary throughout the week and could include weekends and/or evening hours to support project needs, _subject to change_ . (Relocation benefits are available for eligible candidates).
+ You'll join an onboarding class with peers starting in the same role and on the same date. Training typically begins in the summer months.
**Our Day in the Life of a Distribution Center Area Manager**
+ Responsible for day-to-day oversight of warehouse operations, while leading a team of Distribution Center Associates in efficiently and effectively executing shipping / receiving responsibilities safely, productively and under company policies and procedures.
+ Analyzes productivity,efficiency, and accuracy data to lead and drive team performance excellence and maximize individual team member performance and potential.
+ Leads and acts as an ambassador for Burlington’s Core Values, fostering an engaging, professional, and inclusive team environment.
+ Acts as a catalyst and action driver for complex, cross-functional, and interdepartmental assignments, and special projects.
+ Practices everyday development by providing feedback, coaching, and development to their team – and receiving the same for oneself.
+ Ensures on-going training and consistent compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, and rules.
+ Effectively and confidently leverages technology, warehouse management systems, and reporting tools / programs to drive results and performance excellence.
+ _Note:_ This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring direct engagement with your team on the warehouse floor where merchandise is received, processed, and shipped.
**Our Distribution Center Area Managers**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or similarly related field).
+ Affinity for team leadership / coaching, addressing complex problems with limited inputs, a fast paced and always evolving environment.
+ Data-driven problem-solver who can build and maintain productive partnerships by living and reinforcing our core values.
+ Ability to think critically with high attention to detail and listening, oral, and written communication skills.
+ A self-starter who takes initiative with a sense of curiosity, adaptability, and courage to always be a student of the business.
+ Strong aspiration and desire for building a leadership career in Distribution, Supply Chain, Logistics.
+ Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office programs with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
+ Candidates must be able to work a flexible and on average 3-4 day weekly onsite work schedule; including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
+ Openness to relocation with new opportunities / promotion is strongly preferred.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment
Reliable transportation is required as our Distribution Center locations in New Jersey may not be easily accessible by public transportation. Based on the needs of the business, you may need to travel to other Distribution Center locations or area stores that do not match the schedules for public transportation.
**Our Compensation and Benefits**
+ An annual salary of $65,000 plus bonuswith the eligibility for an annual performance-based merit increase.
