The Distribution Center Manager will report to the Director of Materials, managing the daily operations of distribution center operations, managing a team to control inventory, order picking and distribution of materials and products. This person will direct the work, people and results in the Distribution Center, and develop, implement and manage processess designed to enhance product flow and timely order fulfillment. Responsible for accurate inventory and timely order fulfillment.
Responsibilities Manage and prioritize daily operations of distribution center.Recommend and implement leadership strategies and changes to activities, processes and workflows to create accurate and fast order fulfillment.Anticipate and identify problems, challenges, and opportunities by understanding processes and analyzing data.Maintain strong communications throughout warehousing and other departments, facilities and transportation vendors.Manage warehouse inventory, accurate cycle counts and accurate physical inventories.Manage distribution so that transportation costs and transit times are reduced. Supervision of order fulfillment and loading.Leadership development and team training: provide coaching, training, and development to staff to enhance performance and ensure succession planning.Permormance metrics and reporting: track and report on key performance indicators such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and productivity, to drive continuous improvement. Qualifications Experience with distribution technologies: Experience with distribution management software, warehouse automation tools, and technology driven solutions.Financial accumen: Strong understanding of budget management, cost control, and financial forecasting related to distribution operations.Change management: Proven ability to implement change management processes and lead teams through transitions to improve operational efficiency.Safety compliance and regulations: thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and best practices in maintaining a safe and compliant warehouse environment. Excellent interpersonal skills to manage staff and maintain a teamwork atmosphere.Quick and accurate problem identification and problem solving.Excellent organizational skills and strategic thought process.Strong understanding and experience managing customer shipping requirements and experience managing inventory control.Knowledge of company manufacturing processes.Strong ability to multi-taskAbility and confidence to conduct department staff meetings.Ability to manage a team and work well with people at all levels of the organization.Experience with SAP preferred.Metalcraft of Mayville is an Equal Opportunity Employer:
