Distribution Center Supervisor

Distribution Center – Supervisor (Asheville, NC)

OVERVIEW:

Instrumental in growing and developing a team to provide world class service to our retail stores and Wholesale customers. In addition to coaching associates to achieve production and meet quality standards, you will be responsible for conducting team meetings, monitoring and tracking budget performance, facilitating change, resolve associate concerns and document counseling sessions and documenting and assessing associate performance.

DESCRIPTION:

Monitor staff levels to ensure flow of merchandise through the department to meet deadlinesEnsure flow of merchandise within department to maximize throughput and productivityCoordinate the daily processing of department under his/her direct reportMonitor budget and payroll information of departments (Earned/Burned report)Identify, coach, train and promote associate with supervisor potentialEvaluate and discuss each direct reports job performance using objectives set at quarterly touchbasesProvide timely and accurate feedback to direct reportsMaintain associate records (time statements, PA’s, PTO and attendance tracking, etc.)Keep open lines of communication to associatesContribute cost saving ideas on a continuous basisOther duties and responsibilities as required by Manager/Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

A two-year or four-year College Degree in management, business administration or related study, or two to five years of related field experienceMust have prior supervisory experience in a Distribution Center environmentPrior experience with the implementation of a new WMS preferredKnowledge of Distribution operations (material handling equipment) and merchandise flowStrong leadership abilitiesGood communication skills both verbally and written including the ability to communicate with all levels of managementStrong interpersonal skillsStrong coaching and administrative skillsStrong mathematical and analytical skillsAbility to prioritize work based on delivery scheduleMust be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) WMS, and SAP or some other payroll/HR system
