Distribution Designer

Distribution Designer

To perform detailed design work including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer. Will be expected to perform fielding when needed. Fielding will take place around the location of the office

Essential Functions of Position:

1. Shall have a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in one or more of the following areas:

Electrical EngineeringInstrumentation and ControlProtective RelayingTransmission DesignSubstation DesignCivil EngineeringMechanical EngineeringDistribution Engineering SurveyingGIS and MappingCADD

2. Shall perform with a minimum of supervision, a variety of design related duties including, but not limited to, the following:

a. Prepare manual or computer assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.

b. Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry and Company standards covering the assigned work.

c. Take a role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.

d. Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.

e. Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.

f. Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Associate Degree or the equivalent in a technical field preferred. Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required with no degree. DEG Management may consider other education and work experience to be acceptable for appointment to this position. Shall have demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform to job duties and responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00
