POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking an entry-level distribution Designer/Engineering Technician for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in our Portland, OR office.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and operation of utility electrical systems which they can apply their knowledge for developing new designs.Compilation of design packages for constructionPerform quality reviews of project deliverablesOccasional field data collectionRequired Education/ExperienceOne (1) + years of electric utility design experienceGeneral experience in the design, operation, construction, and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV) and/or strong familiarity with construction processes.Exposure to utility standards, NESC, and an understanding of construction techniques.Ability to learn and use design software packages efficiently, retain and apply on the job trainingAbility to work effectively in design teamsSelf-motivated to perform assigned tasks and take the initiative to learn the tradeSome travel should be expectedMust be able to successfully pass client's background screening processMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordMust have strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills.Desired Education/ExperienceThree (3) + years of electric utility design experienceGeneral construction knowledge and aptitudeStrong computer skillsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize workAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
