Job Title: Distribution Engineer
Job Description
We are currently sourcing for Distribution Engineers to support our client in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidates should have strong experience in distribution design engineering and experience with Distribution Design Studio (DDS). This role offers an office environment with a hybrid schedule and the opportunity to work on various projects related to power distribution.
Responsibilities
+ Support joint use or make ready projects as a distribution design engineer.
+ Utilize DDS (Distribution Design Studio) to perform distribution design tasks.
+ Draft and design electrical distribution systems using tools such as AutoCAD and Microstation.
+ Ensure compliance with power and utility standards.
+ Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience using DDS (Distribution Design Studio).
+ 3+ years of experience in distribution design engineering.
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation.
+ Strong knowledge of power distribution and electrical design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with AEP Texas or AEP general.
+ Experience with Centerpoint or CPS.
+ Experience with First Energy.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid schedule for candidates based in Houston, with four days in the office and one day working from home. Remote candidates must have experience with AEP and DDS. The role includes 5 PTO days and 6 holidays. The project is a 2-year contract with the potential for 12-month contract-to-hire. The standard office hours are 40 hours per week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
