Job Description
Provide detailed engineering, design, and planning assessments and recommendations. Evaluate system operations, and provide project scope development for overhead and underground utility systems. Evaluate electrical power systems and design overhead/underground replacements per utility standards. Develop/modify accurate estimates and engineering drawings using BlueBeam (PDF software), AutoCAD, and/or GIS software. Meet with manager, engineers, and colleagues to review the status of each project and determine an appropriate communication course of action. Visit site plans to determine the condition of existing utility and collect necessary information for each project. Coordinate ROW acquisition, planning, and design functions through regular project updates for schedule adherence and work forecast. Work a minimum of 40 hours a week on a regular basis, with possible overtime. Additional duties as needed and/or assigned.

Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CAD software, and related tools.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
+ 2-5 years of experience.
+ Previous experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
+ Prior internship or utility experience.
+ Working knowledge of Distribution Engineering software tools like ARMS, JETS/JETS scheduling tool, DETS, CYME, and DISTGIS/ArcMap.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in writing switching orders.
+ Ability to write business correspondence and communicate effectively.
+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies.
+ Great operational planning skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills.
+ General computer skills (email, Microsoft Office).
+ Working knowledge of OH and UG fiber optic and other telecommunication distribution means.
Work Environment
This role requires working a minimum of 40 hours a week on a regular basis, with possible overtime. The position involves site visits to evaluate existing utility conditions and collect necessary information for each project. You will engage in regular project updates for schedule adherence and work forecast. The work environment includes the use of engineering software tools like BlueBeam, AutoCAD, GIS software, ARMS, JETS, DETS, CYME, and DISTGIS/ArcMap. General office software such as Microsoft Office and email will also be utilized.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.00
