Distribution Engineer (Urgent Hire)
Job Title: Distribution Engineer Job Description We are seeking skilled Distribution Engineers for a one-year contract-to-direct position. The selected individuals will be responsible for connecting new homes and commercial businesses to the energy grid or upgrading existing connections. This role involves a combination of field work, design work, electrical analysis, and material selection. The Distribution Engineer will start by visiting assigned work sites to conduct field work, including taking notes, pictures, and measurements to create the work package. The information gathered will be used to create electrical drawings and perform electrical analysis to determine the necessary materials. Engineering calculations may include structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices. The material selection will result in a Bill of Materials (BOM) through SAP software. The work package will be used by the utility company's field installation team. The role requires flexibility in field work scheduling around other projects and weather conditions. Candidates will work on multiple projects simultaneously and must be comfortable in both field and office settings. Interaction with supervisors, peers, and customers is a daily aspect of this role. Work Environment Typical Day/Week: 10%-20% Field Inspections, 60%-80% Engineering and development of design packages for construction crews, 10% Performing administrative tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up.
