How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Distribution Manager is responsible for maximizing the safe, effective and efficient distribution of product and management of the driving team. This includes delivery order management and shipment routing (inter-company shuttles, trailer, and bulk deliveries), fleet maintenance, record keeping and compliance and overall training and effectiveness of the driving team.

In particular, you will: 

Directly supervise drivers providing leadership regarding safe work habits. Manage the availability of drivers and equipment, including all vehicle maintenance requirements, to ensure that adequate resources are available to meet distribution/customer needs.

Control distribution costs and maximizes service response through the balancing of daily routes and overall system optimization.

Drives continuous improvement in daily distribution operations. Champions distribution efficiency initiatives for the location, including demand leveling.

Reviews and processes daily all Department of Transportation (DOT) documentation; vehicle condition reports and drivers hours of service, route efficiency, and completion.

Reviews various processes, including incoming orders for accuracy and unusual requirements, open orders for status and closure, communicating unusual requirements for production planning, reviews returned trips for paperwork accuracy and completeness, and unfulfilled orders. 

Prepares load sheets, delivery tickets, and manifests and highlights any critical customer requirements. Ensure loads are accurate and complete.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Knowledge of truck routing and shipping of hazardous materials within DOT and FDA Requirements.

Working knowledge of SAP and Google Applications

Self-starter, self-motivated, independent, well-organized with attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with others in favorable and unfavorable situations regardless of status or position. Accepts cultural diversity and establishes effective working relationships.

Strong analytical skills with competency for understanding metrics and ability to present and communicate to all levels of the organization and external customers.

Must have leadership skills to use available resources for goal accomplishment; establish appropriate courses of action for self and/or others to accomplish specific goals; develop evaluation criteria and tracking systems for monitoring goal progress and accomplishment; and specify objectives, schedules, and priorities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics management, or related field preferred.

Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated leadership experience in a distribution environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must maintain a valid TX Class A commercial driver license with airbrakes and hazmat endorsement.

Must have one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.

Valid Medical Examiner's Card.

Must be able to obtain DISA credentials and have a current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Employees must have the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as clothing with fire protection, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hard Hat, and Metatarsals.
