Distribution Project Engineer




Distribution Project Engineer Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:

Initial expectations are for this individual to perform project work and develop local client relationships. This position has a high likelihood of evolving into a managerial or Project Manager position and as such the ideal candidate must be able to effectively lead, mentor, and manage a diverse staff of engineers, designers, and drafters.  The qualified candidate should be experienced with utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package development. The ideal candidate will also have experience with the design and operation of advanced systems. Familiarity with distribution design software, both overhead and underground, the National Electric Safety Code, and electrical loading is required. Because the candidate will be expected to deal directly with clients, he or she must have strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills.

Required Education/Experience A BSEE degree Professional Engineer certification or ability to obtain one A minimum of six years of experience in the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV) Desired Education/Experience Prior experience in the utility field is preferred. Overhead and Underground design experience.
