Working in Manufacturing at JLR, you'll be the hands-on expert who brings innovation to life. You'll collaborate with a team of expert technicians and problem-solvers and use cutting-edge tools, facilities, and processes engineered together to build era-defining vehicles that people across the world know and love. Your expertise will directly impact the shaping of modern luxury. Together, let’s create the exceptional.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Finished Vehicle Distribution department is responsible for the movement of new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles to retailers in over 100 markets worldwide. We organise, manage and monitor the movement of every vehicle produced globally. This ensures that delivery takes place in a timely and efficient manner, whilst maintaining the highest quality levels possible. Manging our operations and supplier base, as well as developing our current and future distribution strategy, are key to delivering a Customer First service to our markets, retailers and customers worldwide.

The key deliverable for Distribution Quality is to maintain Plant Quality standards throughout the global distribution chain, across all modes of transport, to the final delivery point. Where damage or a technical issue does occur, it is our responsibility to manage the repair process and subsequently recover any losses from the liable party.

As a Distribution Quality Controller, you'll be responsible for managing the relationship with our third party claims agent and all supplier recoveries for damage caused in-transit. You will need to develop strong relationships through regular interaction across various JLR departments and external suppliers. You will be a self-starter who is able to demonstrate initiative and a passion for excellence. The successful applicant must have a strong ‘can do’ and customer first mindset to challenge where required.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

•    Manage the contract with JLR’s claims recovery agent, managing all aspects of the relationship and Service Level. Ensure KPI metrics are achieved with robust next steps actions in place to resolve any issues where applicable.
•    Support the claims process to ensure successful recoveries from Service Providers where vehicles have been damaged in transit. Lead escalation meetings where required including reviews with contracted carriers and manage escalation issues from Retailers / NSCs / Importers.
•    Lead weekly / monthly reviews with the Claims Agent to monitor performance and manage financial trackers for outstanding recoveries, top up funds and payment/invoice queries.
•    Support the wider quality team to ensure quality standards are in place with our suppliers and work to make sure that they meet these requirements so that vehicles are delivered to the highest quality standards. Promote damage prevention and continuous improvement via lessons learned and the use of best practice.
•    FVD lead for departmental audits, ensuring documentation is up to date and respective teams are fully prepared.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
•    Background in the Automotive Industry (within an OEM or Supplier) or experience working in one or more of our stakeholder functions e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical Service or Quality is advantageous.
•    Experience of contract / supplier management.
•    Ability to quickly understand and challenge processes and drive the resolution of technical issues / activities with cross functional teams.
•    Ability to work individually or as part of a multi-functional team and to work both strategically and at a detailed level.
•    A valid driving licence. The role will require occasional travel to other sites / distribution compounds / ports - it is therefore expected that candidates will be able to drive.

We work hard to nurture a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We understand candidates may require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs.

Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome. If you’re unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role – but you're interested in where it could take you – we still encourage you to apply. We believe in people's ability to grow and develop within their role – it’s what makes living the exceptional with soul possible.
