The Job:  

As a Distribution Supervisor for Global Tools & Storage, you will plan, organize, and monitor the receiving activities for the DC by providing leadership, support, and development of direct reports. This will include specific focus on primarily safety in the responsible areas as well as unloading metrics including Aged on Yard, Stranded materials and units unloaded within the dropped yard and Live Unload environment. This is a 1st shift opportunity, plus last Saturday of each month.

Primarily, you will:

Ensure safety of employees via active safety culture management, policy enforcement, and assisting in developing improvements to our business.Plans and coordinates work by determining manpower levels against demand and ensuring individual metrics expectations are met.Trains and motivates; monitors and evaluates performance of associates in the department.Confirms associate’s ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage and production configurations.Ensure a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper areas in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.Develops Team Leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned associates.Monitors, measures, and documents department performance for cost, labor, and productivity requirements. Working with the Human Resources Department, select employees through the normal hiring process, administer policies and procedures as applicable, monitor employee performance/attendance/time, resolve associate relation issues, coach and counsel for improvement and apply discipline where necessary up to and including termination of employment. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree required or a minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role within a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing setting.Experience with inventory or warehouse software, databases, WMS, Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.Consistently demonstrates highest level of personal ethical conduct.Ability to work independently. Self-motivated individual with the desire to succeed and motivate others as well as manage and organize multiple priorities.Critical thinking and problem-solving ability: synthesize findings from analysis and draw conclusions to provide solutions. Identifies and works toward problem resolution.
