Job Description/Responsibilities

The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for inventory coming into the warehouse and oversees accurate entry into the ERP system; manages Customs Bonded receiving and withdrawal of imported cases; supervises warehouse technicians to ensure daily work schedule is met; manages export, military, and refund stock orders; works closely with the Louisville Export Order Manager and freight forwarders to schedule shipments; analyzes inventory for refund needs and checks and processes breakage.

 

Ensure that transportation related activities are completed to ensure that customer orders ship out accurately and completely and that exceptions are either resolved in advance or properly communicated to the affected parties.Develop and document SOPs and best practices to ensure highest standards for Shipping Department. Proactively generate ideas to improve the Shipping operation. Optimize available warehouse space to accommodate existing and new products. Manage and continuously improve the configuration of the warehouses. Maximize shipment throughput. Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for shipping and receiving processes. Implement logistics and supply chain best practices.Ensure inventory in assigned warehouses (on-site and off-site) is accurately accounted for. Investigate and fix inventory, receiving, and shipping errors. Ensure inventory is cycle counted. Oversee the employee cycle counts and adjustments. Oversee Customs bonded inventory and withdrawals.Learn about, master, and own the Warehouse Management System software (WMS). Train others to use the WMS. Act as primary contact for employees’ questions and problems with the WMS, RF devices, and other inventory or system related questions.Leads the Shipping/Receiving Department in a manner consistent with the culture of the company. Ensures employees are treated fairly and with respect. Creates a team environment where all employees are encouraged to make a difference in meeting and exceeding customer expectations. Through personal example and direct management, create an environment that supports self-directed work teams and productive employee relations.Investigate and report accident and injuries in the work place. Assess and audit work areas and develop new processes to prevent accidents and injuries. Work with employees to complete behavior based safety observations and provide candid feedback on safe work practices.Document and improve Shipping Department processes. Use the system to manage and update processes.Ensure adherence to all Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices. Ensure adherence to applicable quality, safety, distribution and logistics standards, and GMPs, with a consistent focus on excellent customer service, and budgetary and regulatory guidelines. Analyze and resolve problems relating to product quality, shipping errors or shipping delivery issues.The Warehouse Team Lead will actively engage with our PDS development system. Regular and insightful comments will be made at established company frequencies, at a minimum. Personal development competencies will target important areas of the Team Lead's growth based on individual needs and departmental goals. The Warehouse Team Lead will be expected to engage and manage various projects and initiatives that support their growth and developmental needs. The Warehouse Team Lead will lead their direct reports in developing PDS plans for individual skill improvements.Understands career goals of employees and works with them to develop skills that will help them reach their career goals. Creates and executes a personal Career Develop Plan with Manager to identify career goals and skill development needed to achieve the goals.
