Distribution Supervisor – Tifton (1 opening) Reports to: Jonathan Scheller
NOTE: Successful Candidate must be located within a reasonable commuting distance of the Operating Headquarters for timely arrival during emergency response situations. Relocation assistance is available if needed.
JOB SUMMARY
The Tifton Operating Headquarters will provide the primary line crew support for Tift, Turner, Worth, Wilcox, Irwin, Coffee, Berrien, and Colquitt counties. This position will supervise approximately 10-line crew personnel that support the overhead and underground distribution related construction and trouble restoration activities. Other duties include customer interactions, and coordination with sales, engineering, customer service, and contractors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES
Lead employees to include Safety Excellence principles in their work practices. Provide employees regular, constructive performance feedback and support them in their personal development. Ensure that crew members are working efficiently and helping the headquarters to achieve its Capital/O&M budget and capital maintenance goals. Develop strong collaboration between the crew and engineering teams to provide world class value to our customers. Respond consistently and provide leadership in outage situations and participate in the region SERP plan. Coordinate resources to complete multiple jobs, minimize customer outage time, and reduce property damage by crews. Adhere to Distribution Procedures, Distribution Bulletins, OSHA and NESC rules, and Southern Company distribution construction standards. Support continued efforts to incorporate Human Performance into our culture Support and promote an inclusive work environment and incorporate Intentional Inclusion Moments on a regular basis Help Tifton Distribution Area meet or exceed assigned Distribution Goals Effectively communicate goals, company performance and other pertinent information to workgroup Minimize DIMS charges, monitor crew performance vs. estimates, control tool purchases, minimize non-productive time, and reduce costs and improve productivity. Maintain proper condition of safety equipment, tools, and vehicles. Ensure proper documentation of time, materials, and property damages. Support continued movement towards OFS for scheduling and job closeouts. Ensure all compliance controls are fully understood and adhered to by employees. Ensure ARCOS records of employee availability are accurately maintained. Build strong relationships with Management TeamsJOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; Further education and/or training preferredJob Experience
Seven years of distribution construction and/or distribution experience in a power utility company AND knowledge of the construction, maintenance, and restoration of both overhead and underground systems. Knowledge of and experience implementing Section "0", Smith Driving System, NESC, Distribution Bulletins, DOPs, Tagging and Switching Procedures, Distribution Construction Standards, DOT requirements, environmental guidelines, and applicable OSHA regulations. Working knowledge of IBEW Local 84 Distribution MOA, Customer Service Standards, Franchise Manual, and applicable employee-related policies and guidelines. Proven supervisor experience is preferred. Demonstrated leadership in Distribution. Performance management experience and/or insightful understanding of the process of setting clear expectations and holding others accountable. Preferred experience working within or understanding of matrix organizations (i.e. Distribution Areas, DCC, Distribution Const., E&C, Maintenance, & MTS, etc.). Demonstrated experience or ability to quickly learn applications that include but are not limited to: OFS, Oracle, ARMS, ARCOS, CSS, TCMS Web, Dist View, JETS, Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to manage resources to achieve results on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent analysis/decision making skills. Demonstrated interpersonal / leadership skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Distribution accounting procedures and ability to manage a budget. Ability to team with other Distribution employees across traditional territorial boundaries.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Substation 200 qualified or the experience-ability to become qualified. Available for Storm duty and to travel with storm teams as needed. Must participate in the on-call rotation.
