Hours: Monday - Friday 2PM - 10:30PM

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Promote a Culture of Accountability:
Team Leads are the frontline managers at Thermo Fisher, spending most of their time on the packing room floor to supervise employees and processes. Their primary role is to ensure adherence to all Expectations, Initiatives, Rules, SOPs, WIDs, cGMPs, Safety Guidelines, and Company Policies. To effectively promote the company vision. Team Leads exemplify these principles and understand what is expected of each employee in their assigned areas. Additionally, Team Leads are expected to master and apply the following tools to drive accountability:

It is essential that Team Leads uniformly promote accountability among all employees, ensuring there is no favoritism or discrimination.

Facilitate Effective Production:
As a candidate, you will be the first line of support for effective production. You will mentor your teams and swiftly troubleshoot any obstacles they encounter. This requires a thorough understanding of your team's activities, constant monitoring, and proficiency in the following tools:

Ensure Quality:
Our products are vital for millions of people worldwide. Therefore, it is essential that they meet customer standards and specifications. Quality must be integrated into our production processes rather than relying solely on subsequent checks. Team Leads are expected to learn the specifications of the products their teams produce and ensure quality through the following methods:

Conducting Spot Checks for Quality AssuranceAddressing Quality Issues and Advancing as NecessaryUsing Trackwise to Monitor and Resolve Quality IssuesPerforming Risk Assessments and MitigationsReviewing Quality Findings, Defects, Training Updates, and Customer Complaints with the Team for Training and Awareness

Monitor Important Metrics:
Thermo Fisher has identified Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Efficiency as the five critical metrics indicative of our success. Team Leads must learn how these metrics are tracked and their impact on the company's success. This involves daily monitoring and updating of Tier Boards. Additionally, Team Leads will support the Supervisor by tracking and recording the following

Manage Staff:
Team Leads will have direct reports and are responsible for leading them. To facilitate this, Team Leads must monitor the following programs daily to ensure all tasks are completed on time:

Participate in PPI:
As leaders and subject matter authorities, you have the ability to participate in our continuous improvement initiatives. You will be expected to report all Stop the Lines, Line Interruptions, and Hazard IDs through the appropriate channels. Additionally, you will facilitate Just Do Its, Gembas, RCCMs, and participate in Kaizens to implement process improvements and identify areas for enhancement.

Coordination with Other Departments:
Team Leads must coordinate professionally and timely with other manufacturing process aspects (kitting, tubecutting, bag manufacturing, warehouse, transportation, etc.), focusing solely on work coordination.

Start/End of Shift:
Team Leads play a key role in the successful transition of the production floor between shifts. Responsibilities include:

Reviewing emails for time-sensitive information and responding accordinglyBeing present and prepared for the leadership meeting 15 minutes before the shift startsLeading Tier 1 meetings with the Supervisor for respective teamsConducting shift handoffs with outgoing and incoming Team Leads to discuss job statuses, schedule updates, material or job shortages, and any safety or quality concernsSubmitting end-of-shift reports, recording production data on the tier board, and submitting all Stop the Lines, Line Interruptions, and Hazard IDs

Backup for Supervisor:
Team Leads will be expected to fill in for the Supervisor during short absences. The Supervisor will ensure that Team Leads are trained to complete all vital daily functions, and Team Leads will perform these functions as needed.

Failure to adhere to the above-stated responsibilities may result in corrective actions, including demotion and termination.

Minimum Requirements:

Education Required: HS Diploma/ GED

Higher Education Preferred

2 years of prior team/ people leadership required

3+ years of distribution or manufacturing experience required
