Position Overview:

To provide materials support to all clinical and ancillary departments. Maintain adequate supply in all Omnicells, Optiflex and Lawson par locations. Enter all patient charges. Works as a liason between assigned departments and Materials Management bringing forth any issues or concerns raised by the departments.

Distribution Technicians and/or Distribution Supervisors shall order, stock, deliver and access IV solutions from their floor stock list. The above individuals may transport and stock IV Solutions to specific locations, which could include medication rooms, upon request by authorized personnel or as needed to replenish used stock based on daily inventory counts. If the delivery is made to a medication room the Distribution Technicians will need to seek access to these areas by the proper authorized personnel from the floor.

Central Distribution may distribute stock IV solutions and irrigations to the authorized Nursing Units/departments. Select concentrations of pre-made large volume IV's containing potassium chloride shall be available on the Central Distribution cart for select nursing units.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Replenish supply carts and Omnicells
Description:

Ensure that all supply carts/cabinets using mobile handhelds are inventoried dailyEnsure that Omnicell or Optiflex cabinets are cycle counted at least weeklyObserves each Omnicell or Optiflex cabinet for empty or low pockets daily to prevent stock outsRotate supplies to ensure FIFO (first in first out)Report insufficient on hand stock to supervisorEnsures that par levels are followed and removes all stock that is over the par levelIssues proper credits for stock being returned to the storeroom using IC21.2


Department supply issues
Description:

Ensure that all supplies are issued from inventory and charged to user departmentsRelease all WH32.2 reports by end of work dayRespond to all stat calls in a timely manner


Expired Products
Description:

Ensures that all products have been checked for expiration dateEnsures oldest product is in front or on top of newer product (FIFO)Ensures that all product expiring within 30 days has been removed and disposed of properly


Patient Charges (Storeroom only)
Description:

Key patient charges in to the computer system in a timely manner


Maintain a clean work area
Description:

Remove empty boxes from shelvesEnsures no outside (Brown) cardboard is left is supply roomsEnsures that product labels are facingPick up and return supplies to shelvesEnsure that all boxes are off the floorPlaces all cardboard in the proper cardboard containerBreaks down all cardboard as possible. (Exception may be IV solution boxes)


Description:

Drive 24ft standard (stick shift w/clutch) refrigerated truck. Have the ability to operate, lift or fold a lift gate.


IV Solution Dating
Description:

Ensures that daily any bag removed from the outer wrapper is either disposed of in the proper container or date labeled.(Date Labeled: Any IV bag that is removed from the outer wrapper has a 14 day shelf life and must be date stamped with the day it was removed from the outer wrapper. If there is any question about when the outer wrapper was removed the bag is to be removed and disposed of).


EDUCATION

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

Minimum one year in any of the following: Inventory Control, Central Supply/Distribution.

Pay Range is $30.11 to $35.98 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.
