Distribution Technician I - 2nd shift

McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking full-time Distribution Technicians for its Maryland Logistics Center (MLC) in Sparrows Point, MD. The ideal candidates should have a strong work ethic, solid technical skills, logistics experience, and excel at teamwork. 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 2 pm – 10:00 pm (+6% shift diff) 

 

$500 SIGN-ON BONUS AFTER THE FIRST 6 MONTHS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general supervision of the Team Manager, the Distribution Technician is responsible for:

Picking/packing/staging all customer orders in a timely and accurate manner while utilizing an RF scanner and VMC (vehicle-mounted computer) to perform transactions successfully while operating material handling equipment. Operating a variety of industrial equipment, including motorized pallet jacks, push-off machines, wrappers, pallet flippers, and pallet dispensers as needed based on business needs. Using a computerized inventory system and documenting safety, quality, and performance standards as processes dictate. General warehouse duties, including sanitation, required training, and audits outside of core operations. Arriving on time and engaging in team meetings, startup meetings, and special projects as required.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Accurate clerical and numerical skills, ability to read, interpret, and follow complex procedures. Ability to successfully learn to operate a variety of equipment, including a motorized pallet jack and battery charging system. Ability to work in an environment where performance against specific standards is constantly measured Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work overtime frequently or on short notice, inclusive of weekends and holidays. Ability to lift to and including 50 pounds or more on a continuous basis. Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures inside and outside. High School diploma or equivalency Ability to execute the SAP inventory program aligned with McCormick job aids provided. Ability to follow written and verbal directions provided by leadership. Basic PC experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior PIT (Power Industrial Equipment) experience, including a motorized pallet jack, reach truck, Sit-down forklift, and turbine truck, is preferred. Understanding and execution of Problem-Solving skills; knowledge of Six Sigma Minimum of 2 years of experience in order selection, warehousing, or inventory SAP knowledge

 

 

Base Salary: $16.50- $24.74

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
