District Asset Protection Manager (Northern Colorado/Nebraska Panhandle) [DNV-BJT]

Position Purpose:

Our Northern Colorado District is searching for it's next Asset Protection Manager.

 

General Duties:

Provide positive/proactive leadership, and instruction in the area of Security/Asset Protection. Promote the workable, realistic Asset Protection programs that create a safe shopping and working environment for our customers and associates as well as protect company assets. This will be accomplished while preventing crime and loss to the company through policies and procedures, the use of technology, strategies, and training programs within the scope of Albertson’s/Safeway core values, while working closely with Operations and Division level associates.  As the District Asset Protection Manager, you will be an integral member of the team by implementing asset protection initiatives that support and protect our stores within your district. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Protect customers, associates, and company property in a multi-store environment. Conduct regular sore inspection checks ensuring compliance with all operational processes related to shrink reduction, loss controls, and physical security of stores. Knowledge of CCTV systems, camera installation, camera placement, and exception reporting applications. Promote adherence to company policies and procedures; familiarize associates with company rules and regulations.  Work closely (partnership) with District Managers and Area staff.  Investigate both internal and external issues while working closely with Labor Relations, Human Resources, and Legal. Investigate and conduct thorough internal and external theft matters, misappropriation, and fraud issues using CCTV, store reports, and data analytics. Investigate Employment-related allegations, including but not limited to employee misconduct, sexual harassment, workplace violence, wage and hour issues, etc.  Conduct security investigations and assist in follow-up actions.  Protect company assets and properties against theft, illegal entry, and illegal activities.  Report investigation findings to Human Resources and Legal departments for disposition.  Present facts at unemployment, EEOC, and union hearings as appropriate.  Maintain formal and informal channels of communication through the organization. Provide support to store teams and build strong relationships with store staff. Promote open lines of communication with all business partners. Proactive Asset Protection and shrink reduction initiatives.  Act as liaison for the following: Corporate Council, Labor Relations/Human Resources, Government Agencies, Operations personnel, Law Enforcement Agencies, Community groups, Outside Agencies, and Judicial Agencies.  Perform operational & compliance audits in retail stores, prepare and submit required reports for management review.  Ensure proper maintenance of Security programs & systems designed to protect Customers, Associates, and Company Assets.  Execute Asset Protection training and awareness programs, for Asset Protection, Store associates, and other personnel as needed.  Identify security and risk opportunities in assigned locations and prepare recommendations for improvement Consult associates and management on store security, sanitation safety (where applicable), policies, and procedures.  Responsible for performing all job duties accurately, safely, and with honesty and integrity. 

Experience Level: 

3+ years of experience in Asset Protection/Loss Prevention. 

Skills and Experiences: 

Ability to conduct investigations and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of federal, city, county, and state statutes, particularly those laws related to but not limited to shoplifting, fraud, financial crimes, and property-related offenses such as vandalism, malicious mischief, etc.  Possess the initiative to help create and nurture a world-class Asset Protection team through training programs, promotion of the department, identification of high achievers, etc.  Must possess strong interviewing skills (ex. Certified Forensic Interviewer, Wicklander - Zulawski certified). Possess strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to make effective presentations before groups.  Ability to write clear and concise reports. Possess the ability to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results.  General knowledge of computer capabilities (Word, Excel, e-mail). Possess strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone.  Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities. Possess the ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.  Multitasked oriented. 

 

Work Environment:  

Exposure to outdoor and indoor environments. Exposure to potential hostility in aggravated situations. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.  Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.  Incumbent could spend the majority of time traveling throughout the Division visiting retail units, attending hearings and arbitration, etc.  Division-wide travel, up to 70%.  Must have own transportation and be available for overnight travel.  Starting Range $80,000.00-95,000.00 Starting range.
