District Director of Operations
Position: District Director of Operations Job Description: This position is responsible for the development and promotion of service excellence, quality, and operational efficiencies in a manner consistent with organizational requirements. This is accomplished by leading the core operational functions through the adherence of our standard operating procedures, while pursuing service solutions which maximize profitability and growth in line with the Company’s vision, culture, and values. Core Responsibilities & Duties: + Establish metrics and conducts analysis in order to understand and manage performance levels against operational key performance indicators (KPI’s) and company expectations + Adhere to Company Policies as well as local, state and federal laws + Travel as needed to direct reporting markets + Leadership oversight of multiple locations + Champion change, innovation, safety and quality excellence + Ensure operational integrity and compliance standards are met + Compliant with our Company Code of Ethics + Seek continuous improvement and efficiency of processes and strategies + Coach, develop and motivate team members to reach business unit goals + Brand recognition; ensure locations are properly maintained and audit compliant + Manage and prioritize day-to-day operational requirements in a professional and timely manner + Responsible for working with RVP and direct reports to deliver strategic initiatives + Responsible for managing reports to ensure achievement or proactive actions are taken to meet goals + Profit and Loss (P & L) management of multiple locations + Effective communication with key leaders and departments within the organization + Other duties as assigned Qualifications: + Flexible work schedule with ability to travel + Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and written with work groups at all levels + Ability to manage multiple direct reports (remotely) + Commitment to providing exceptional service and value to customers + Strong work ethic, high integrity + Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel + Track record of identifying, coaching, developing and promoting key individuals Skills: + Ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic + Leadership skills to motivate, teach and encourage others + Interpersonal skills necessary to build effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization + Strong organization, prioritization, project management and consulting skill set + Strong understanding of business management, financial and leadership principles + Ability to resolve conflict, internally and externally + Strong analytical problem solving and critical thinking skills + Time Management and Organization Skills + Works effectively in situations involving ambiguity, shifting priorities, and rapid change + Demonstrates principled leadership and sound business ethics and values Forward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer.
