District Manager
Job Title: District Manager – Self Storage Location: Southern California Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000 per year Additional Benefits: $800 monthly auto allowance, $75 monthly mobile allowance About Us: StorAmerica Management, a leading provider of self-storage solutions, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven District Manager to oversee a portfolio of self-storage facilities. As a District Manager, you will play a key role in managing operations, driving business growth, and developing high-performing teams. Position Summary: The District Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple self-storage facilities within the assigned district. This role involves ensuring facilities are well-maintained, staff are trained and motivated, and the business is profitable. The District Manager will work closely with store managers and teammates to ensure alignment with company standards and operational goals while providing outstanding customer service and driving revenue growth. Key Responsibilities: Operational and Financial Management + Accountable for achieving revenue goals by managing the performance of all facilities within the district, including meeting or exceeding budget expectations. + Oversee all aspects of store operations, including daily activities, facility maintenance, safety compliance, and customer service standards. + Manage controllable expenses and optimize ROI for each store in the district through cost-effective practices and operational efficiency. + Perform regular facility audits to ensure physical and operational standards are being met, submitting findings and ensuring follow-up action as needed. Team Leadership and Development + Lead, motivate, and develop a team of store managers and customer-facing associates to achieve company goals and provide superior customer experience. + Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members, ensuring they have the tools and skills necessary to succeed. + Recruit, hire, and onboard new teammates, ensuring alignment with StorAmerica’s culture and values. + Foster a positive, high-energy work environment by leading with integrity, supporting professional development, and celebrating team successes. Customer Service Excellence + Deliver and uphold StorAmerica’s customer service standards, ensuring all customers receive a friendly, welcoming, and efficient experience. + Regularly engage with customers in person and over the phone to ensure their needs are met and issues are resolved promptly. + Drive customer retention efforts through the development and execution of strategies that focus on reducing delinquency and maintaining high occupancy levels. Strategic Business Development + Use analytics and management tools to assess district performance, identify trends, and develop strategies for growth. + Support district and regional initiatives related to revenue management, human resources, marketing, and finance. + Ensure operational compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Travel and District Coordination + Travel regularly to all facilities within the district to provide hands-on leadership, attend meetings, and conduct store visits. + Work closely with regional leadership to align district goals with broader company initiatives and foster a collaborative work environment. + Must have a valid California driver’s license and own reliable transportation. These items are integral parts of this job, and necessary to carry out mandatory duties of the position. Minimum Qualifications: + 2 years management experience (self-storage industry experience is a plus). + Associate’s degree in business administration, management, or related field. Additional Qualifications: + Proven leadership experience in managing high-performing teams, preferably in retail, service, hospitality, or self-storage industries. + Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L and budgets and driving profitability. + In-depth knowledge of facility management, including maintenance, security, and customer service practices. + Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. + The ability to travel regularly within the district and beyond for meetings and training sessions. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). + Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. + Must be available for weekend phone calls and occasional weekend work during peak seasons.
