GENERAL FUNCTION
Drive and continuously grow/improve district revenue, profitability, patient experience, MD/OD practice relationships and Vision Associates value proposition by successfully assembling, developing and leading a high performance Optical Office team of Optical leads and Opticians, controlling expenses at or below budget, fulfillment of our mission and scheduling/attending/leading high impact/regular/recurring visits with MDs/ODs/Practice Administrators/Dispensing Offices within designated district.
The District Manager assumes direct responsibility for the achievement of targets set for sales, collections, margin and EBITDA growth of their respective offices collectively. This role works in partnership with the Regional Director to set goals, develop and execute strategies (sales, patient experience, Mission, account relationship, value proposition, etc.) to continuously deliver our targets, mission and account commitments. This position develops, coaches, effectively trains, regularly visits and builds bench for, Dispensary Office Leads/Opticians and Floating Trainers, Float Opticians for their respective offices within their designated district. District Managers actively and enthusiastically collaborate with peers, Vision Associates leaders, support teams, Essilor US and Worldwide cohorts on all continuous improvement programs, business model development programs (i.e. pilots, tests, new product launches, new tools, etc.) and ALL other initiatives as designated by the Vice President of Operations and Regional Director to improve performance, build account relationships and deliver on our Mission.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for delivery of their district sales, collections, margin and EBITDA targets collectively Builds and maintains high performance Optical Dispensary Office team and bench of qualifies candidates to fill vacated positions (Floating Trainers, Optical Floats and Office Opticians) necessary to cover all Office Dispensaries, new office openings and training at budgeted headcount and compensation levels Schedules and strives to conduct 4-day/week (Tuesday-Friday) Office visits into all Offices in their district on a regular/rotating basis. Ideally every Office is visited once every two weeks and ~20+ times annually (assuming 8 Office span of responsibility) Ensures EVERY possible effort to cover open Offices with Floating Trainer/Optical Float/ other Opticians to prevent District Manager cover an Office versus fulfill basic/most important function of conducting regular/rotating Office visits in their respective Districts. District Manager patient engagement during regular/rotating Office visits, especially during peak traffic times is strongly encouraged Schedules (Quarterly), attends & participates in Regional Director office visits and leads/participates in practice meeting cadence with MD/OD/Practice Administrator/Essilor Leaders/Reps/etc. & leverages same to deliver District capture rate target, KPI targets, initiatives and Mission Closely monitors and coaches on patient experience opportunities observed during Office visits and communicated through patient survey tools (i.e. NPS) and MD/OD/Practice Administrator teamBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field 3 years multi-unit leadership in the Optical industry with successful AND progressing track record for growing revenue/margin/profit, patient experience, key account management value, Optician development, optical office best practices experience in $2.5+ million business. Optician licensure and/or Optician experience is a plus
