Scope
Boise Cascade’s – Building Materials Distribution (BMD) division is seeking a highly motivated leader to be it’s Division Transportation Driver Services Manager. The ideal candidate will serve as an expert on all matters related to DOT compliance, Driver Recruiting, and Equipment Licensing division wide. This role is responsible for qualifying commercial drivers and overseeing DOT compliance activities for the entire BMD fleet. In addition, this position oversees the archives required by various DOT and taxing authorities for audit purposes, serves as the subject matter expert on all regulations related to motor carrier commercial transportation, and manages compliance training. This role requires strong leadership qualities to effectively guide and support the division, ensuring compliance across all locations. This position will be based out of Boise BMD Headquarters, in-person attendance required.
Responsibilities
Responsible for administering and maintaining all driver qualification files as required by Federal and State DOT regulations, administering on-going compliance such as random drug test records. The files are subject to DOT inspection/audit at any time. Drive both industrial and highway safety initiatives as well as incident and accident investigations and determination in both industrial and highway safety. During investigations, this position often represents the Company to law enforcement officers that have jurisdiction. Administer, file, and monitor random drug testing and post-accident drug testing programs. This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, maintaining accurate records, scheduling tests and following up on results. Manage and monitor fuel tracking the Electronic Fuel System (EFS) for various BMD locations. This includes maintaining accurate data entry, analyzing fuel usage patterns, and identifying opportunities for cost savings. Prepare multiple reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Working conditions are an office environment with minimal physical exertion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Typically, more than seven (7) years of experience in related job function. May require professional certification and/ or advanced degree. 5+ years in Trucking/Transportation Management or other compliance heavy industry. Experience working closely with regulatory agencies including FMCSA, State Tax departments and state jurisdiction regulatory agencies.About Boise Cascade
