Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Specialist

At Affirm, we're committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a DEI Specialist, you'll work closely with the DEI Manager (to whom this position reports) on executing our DEI strategy across the company. You'll partner cross-functionally on projects and programs that support DEI at Affirm, and you'll have the opportunity to project manage small-mid scale programs from start to finish and support the day-to-day operations of larger-scale programs.

What You'll Do

Drive small-mid scale, end-to-end projects and programs that support Affirm's DEI strategy. Provide project and program management support, including monitoring project progress and keeping projects and tasks on track, keeping cross-functional partners appropriately engaged and informed, and actively resolving issues. Assist with vendor management, project budgeting/planning/logistics management, and internal/external communication on DEI matters. Collaborate with our People Business Partners, Onboarding/Engagement/Learning & Development/Talent Management partners, ERG leaders, and business leaders to understand DEI needs. Help analyze engagement and DEI survey data; help set and execute DEI goals and action plans using data. Serve as first-in-line support for team support channels (e.g., Workday ticketing and general learning Slack messages from employees). Support the administrative elements across our portfolio of programs (e.g., calendaring, drafting employee communications, building project plans, tracking deliverables, updating and organizing data, and responding to employee/manager questions). Support maintaining data integrity for our program's systems/tools and dashboards to help track programs' effectiveness using various metrics. Input, analyze, synthesize data, and complete external research to identify patterns and new ideas that can help improve programs and processes.

What We Look For

3 to 4+ years of program/project management experience, ideally in DEI or people-related programs.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an appetite for distilling sophisticated information into what matters most. Simpler is better. Experience in simultaneously executing short-term and long-term projects, with attention to detail and organization. Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse cross-functional teams. Ability to maturely handle sensitive and confidential information. Passionate about DEI and enthusiastic about growing DEI knowledge for yourself and others. Data-driven problem solver and strategist. Creative thinker who can generate innovative program ideas to improve the Affirmer experience and has a growth mindset (i.e., you're excited to try new things and believe challenges will help you grow). A “how can we make this better?” mentality. You recognize that “perfect” is not an end state and continually drive for program improvement.
