Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Student Life Manager and the direction of the Assistant Dean for Student Life & Diversity, the coordinator provides extensive on-campus programming, outreach, and education and assists students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members who inquire about student diversity activities. Coordinator assists in advising student organizations, helps maintain physical office space and works closely with campus colleagues leading diversity initiatives.
Job Responsibilities Must be capable of tactful interaction with students, faculty, and high profile guests Develop relationships with under-represented students and others who engage in diversity efforts. Assist with ensuring medical school applicants are provided diversity related information and connect with Assistant Dean and others as requested. Assist in creating materials and resources (newsletters, brochures, website, etc.) that support diversity efforts. Drafts new content as needed, updates photos and weblinks. Ensures thoughtful and timely communication is provided to students. Assists and supports all aspects of the pipeline program efforts and other special projects as needed; this includes support for T-SRF and Access programs, support for URiM Excellence Summit. Organize efforts to collect relevant student data and maintain records of activities, policies, and processes related to diversity initiatives. Develop and manage comprehensive electronic student and alumni databases. Education Bachelor's Degree in related field ExperienceApproximately 3 years administrative experience in college or university setting.
Knowledge of diversity and inclusion within the context of higher education/medical education.
Prior experience with program development, especially related to diversity and inclusion.
