**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Division Vice President of Nursing Informatics is a nurse informatics expert responsible to support nursing and patient care clinicians in the safe and effective deployment and use of clinical informatics and technology, and acts as key interface and resource for cross-functional initiatives and responsibilities. This position provides divisional nursing leadership support by utilizing information and technology to support nursing and clinical performance. The AVP of Nursing Informatics will play a key supporting role of the DCNE and DCIO for the Division strategy to execute initiatives that align with the enterprise strategy for informatics and technology. This position demonstrates a high degree of responsibility, accountability and autonomy.
**PRIMARY REPONSIBILITIES:**
+ You will be a transactional leader to support clinicians in the effective deployment and use of information technology.
+ You will build strategic alliances and partnerships across Medical City Healthcare to collaboratively execute business strategies.
+ You will be responsible for the design and implementation of workflow related to clinical information technology systems, ensuring they meet or exceed regulatory and clinical process needs. This includes the redesign and optimization of existing workflows to create efficiencies and skillful processes for clinical practice.
+ In conjunction with key IT and Business leaders, you will develop implementation support strategies which create ownership and accountability with facility leadership for initial and ongoing training of clinical teams.
+ You will be responsible for integrating the clinical technology portfolio, through the design and execution of training that effectively drives clinical transformation through advanced use of division and enterprise clinical information technology systems.
+ You will engage with individual facilities to identify unique clinical/operational needs and assist with the development of action plans that are consistent with the mission of HCA.
+ You will provide regular analytics, insights, and reports at the Division and facility level to track impact of initiatives and optimization utilization of clinical information technology systems.
+ You will assist in the development and implementation of electronic clinical protocols that use evidence based best practices to provide consistency and drive performance outcomes.
+ You will monitor performance of information systems from a clinical perspective (e.g., employee engagement) to recommend changes, upgrades, and new systems.
+ You will assist in the coordination across the Division to ensure federal and state program requirements for electronic health records and payment models.
+ You will assist in the coordination across the Division to ensure understanding, interpretation, and application of "meaningful use” guidelines in their hospital/practice.
+ You will be a Nursing executive leader sponsor for Clinical Informatics Council.
**What qualifications you will need:**
**Licensure/Certification/Registration:**
+ Texas RN license.
+ National certification required within 6 months of hire, with preference in nursing informatics.
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
+ Master's degree in Health Informatics, Business Administration, or Nursing required.
**Experience:**
+ Requires at least 5 years of experience with hospital clinical nursing practice.
+ Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing operations or leadership with specific experience and/or oversight of informatics initiatives.
+ Specific informatics leadership experience highly preferred.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
+ Skill in grasping the complexities and understanding intricate relationships among issues or problems.
+ Skill in recognizing gaps in existing information that is important for fully understanding an issue or problem.
+ Knowledge of tools, systems, and evidence-based practices utilized to support nursing informatics.
+ Expert proficiency in MediTech.
+ Expert proficiency with technology including call systems, iPhones, and other healthcare technology.
+ Expert knowledge of clinical systems that support operational efficiencies as it relates to clinical informatics enterprise initiatives.
+ Knowledge in the use, development, and deployment of electronic health records.
+ Knowledge of issues related to changing roles and skills in the current health care environment.
+ The ability to use database software to enter, retrieve, sort, and filter information as necessary for reporting or report generation.
+ The ability to use intermediate/advanced features of spreadsheet software to analyze data including formatting summary tables, creating graphs and charts, and making calculations.
+ The ability to plan and manage projects, including assigned personnel, multiple competing project, or resource demands to meet project deadlines on time and within budget
+ The ability to be a servant leader to nursing and clinical services at the Division-level to support strategic initiatives and nursing and clinical practice.
+ The ability to work collaboratively in the shared space of information technology.
