As the Divisional Accountant, while reporting to the Alberta Regional Controller, you are a key member of the management team, responsible for the full range of operational, financial, and management accounting reporting, analysis, and administrative support. You will support the Fox Creek Alberta location and can be located out of either the Fox Creek mill or the Whitecourt office.  If outside of Fox Creek, you will need to be on-site at the Fox Creek mill a minimum of 2 days per week and during month end processes with the balance of those workdays working out of our Whitecourt office..

 

The life of the Divisional Accountant includes:

Providing operational and financial support & analysis for the manufacturing facility and its assets Preparing and assisting in the annual business plan, monthly and quarterly forecast, weekly cost report, and capital project processes Assisting department heads and supervisors in departmental budget control, cost/benefit analysis, and providing financial information and recommendations Coordinating and liaising with both internal and external customers Ensuring compliance with corporate policies and IFRS Reviewing and approving financial statements and reports Coaching operations personnel on financial matters related to their area of responsibility

 

For this role, come equipped with:

Strong interpersonal skills Minimum of 5 years of related experience Advanced personal computer skills (MS Office)

 

Ideally, you come armed with your CPA designation, experience with standardization and continuous improvement, and experience in financial management specifically in a manufacturing or operational setting. For bonus points, you have knowledge of operational performance management and business process improvement.
