Position: Divisional Accounts Payable Accountant

Department: Finance Department

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Reporting Relationship: Assistant Controller - Division

Salary and Grade:$ 73,046.94 per year; 15, Exempt

Position Overview:

In conjunction with the Divisional AR Accountant, responsible for assigned accounting functions of the divisional funds including general, divisional deposits, and disaster fund, as well as provides supervision of the DHQ A/P personnel.

Responsibilities

Description of Position:  

Review monthly financials to perform account analyses, journaling adjustments as required.Supervise the AP Lead responsible for all staff involved in expense data entry.Review and approve all invoices for Divisional Accounts.Prepare fiscal closing worksheets and statements for Fund EPA00001 and EPA00002 September 30 year-end operating closings.Coordinate and prepare work papers for the divisional audit by Territorial auditors. Prepare response to audit finding by collecting responses from various personnel.Reconcile the divisional bank account, including reviewing stale dated outstanding checks and all reconciling items.Assist the Assistant Controller in preparing various analyses for the divisional consolidation.Prepare other reports, analyses, and accounting functions necessary for the continued efficient operation of the department.Provide oversight and monitor Wells Fargo CEO activity.Prepare information and files 1099s.Process fixed assets and run depreciation at year end.Prepares and process RKD billings, Smartdata & AP settlement withdrawals, and other billings as needed.Analysis balance sheet accounts and make entries to clear accounts.Process THQ invoices.Process payroll impound reports and accompanying journalsMaintain backup petty cash.Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications

Requirements:    

Bachelor's degree, preferred in accounting or finance.At least four years of accounting experience in a computerized accounting environment.Ability to form and maintain effective business relationships.Proficient with Microsoft Excel.Possess strong time management, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment:   PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 along with renewals every five years.Must have an understanding of, appreciation for, and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.
