**The role you’ll contribute:**
Divisional Chief Legal Officer is the legal executive who provides leadership and advice to the Division and is responsible to: (1) Provide legal advice to Divisional executives and other leaders on a broad scope of health care issues related to the Division’s strategic growth and operations of hospitals and services; (2) Provide legal analysis and transaction services on issues arising from the Division’s physician services including employment contracts and acquisitions; (3) Provide joint venture legal advice on collaboration efforts with other Divisional health care systems ranging from home health, clinically integrated networks, affiliation agreements and ambulatory collaborative projects; (4) Provide advice on and draft documents regarding physician alignment strategies, including professional services agreements; (5) Advise health care executives on co-management and gainsharing arrangements; (6) Maintain knowledge of health care federal, state, and local laws and regulations which affect the operations of AdventHealth and advise appropriate personnel of the significance thereof; (7) Draft and review physician employment, medical director, affiliation, confidentiality, service and other contracts; (8) Oversee, supervise and manage the legal services provided by Divisional attorneys and support staff ; (9) Coordinate and communicate with other AH Legal Services Department members; (10) Participate in compliance, risk management and day to day operational questions from management; (11) Provide legal advice on medical staff matters, including bylaws and rules and regulations; (12) Provide advice on governance matters pertaining to Division Boards of Directors; and (13) Efficiently manage assigned projects/cases/etc. This position reports to the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of AdventHealth
**The value that you bring to the team:**
· Serves as the Divisional legal executive responsible for providing a broad scope of legal health care advice related to hospital, ambulatory, and health related facilities and services to the Divisional executive management.
· Provide the Divisional leadership with an understanding of legal parameters and strategic, operational and joint venture initiatives, in consultation with the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of AdventHealth and other members of the Legal Department.
· Responsible for providing health care legal guidance and advice for AdventHealth West Florida Division.
· Participate in the overall development of the legal services department, internally and externally.
· Responsible for maintaining communication with other attorneys and/or senior leadership.
· Responsible for adhering to Department File System Policy(ies), Directory Policy(ies), Service Log Policy(ies), Registration of Fictitious Name Policy, Establishment of New Business Entity and/or Sale of Business Entity Policy, and Department’s Best Practices Policy.
· Adheres to the Rules of Professional Conduct of the Florida Bar and other state bar associations of which he/she is a member.
· Will supervise support staff and Assistant or Associate Divisional CLOs
**The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed** **:**
· Graduation from an accredited law school.
· Member of the Florida Bar or Authorized House Counsel status in the State of Florida
**Preferred Qualifications:**
· Law firm experience.
· Teaching\lecturing experience
· Board certified in health law or board eligible
· Specific experience in regulatory compliance in the areas of fraud and abuse, anti-referral laws, federal privacy laws, and research involving human subjects
· Experience in acquisition of medical practices
· Experience in dealing with medical staffs
· Experience in advising Boards of Directors
· Experience with academic affiliations
· Teaching ability
