STARTING SALARY: $1,745.46 bi-weekly. (In accordance with the current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into this position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee's current rate, whichever is higher.)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Performs initial review and analysis of all Personnel Action Requests (PARs), new employee hiring packets, promotions, demotions, reassignments, terminations, disciplinary actions, and dual employment requests received in the South Regional Office. Requests reassignments and documents information as needed to ensure compliance with the hiring guidelines and People First requirements.
Prepares vacancy status reports, maintain OPS tracking logs, position control and Personnel Action Log.
Processes four-day work week requests and maintain log. Processes and tracks tuition waiver requests.
Review packets (new hire and promotions) entered into the Human Resources Employment System (HRES) system for accuracy and HR compliance.
Assist in completing E-Verifying (Employment Eligibility) on all new employees.
Request administrative reassignment and documentation/information as needed to ensure compliance with the hiring guidelines and People First requirements.
Preview and assist staff with hiring requisitions entered into People First.
Initial point of contact for processing all regional disciplinary action packets. Review documents for efficiency, prepare draft written and oral disciplinary action letters. Prepare complete packet for Deputy Regional Director or Regional Director’s review and coordinate processing with the General Counsel’s Office. Participate in conference calls with circuit and regional administration on disciplinary investigations and recommendations.
Assist other regions with Personnel issues as required including disciplinary, Family Medical leave Act (FMLA) and Predetermination Conference (PDC) and provide guidance as requested by General Counsel.
Participate in Human Resources conference calls.
Personnel Action Request Liaison for six (6) circuits providing guidance and instruction to Circuit Administrative employees on Human Resources issues or information.
Assist staff with requisition and review all requisitions in People First for accuracy and forward to Head Quarters for final approval.
Monitor, track and maintain log of region FTE positions and vacancies, obtaining information as appropriate from circuit offices. People First Human Resources Manager for the Regional Office providing time and attendance review and assist office staff and employees.
Coordinate FMLA, Sick Leave, Donated Leave, Unemployment and Worker’s Compensation correspondence activities.
Coordinate sharing of information, best practices, training modules and data bases.
Establish and maintain a regional data base of disciplinary actions as a resource for Chief of Probation Officers and Administration considering precedence for levels of disciplinary actions takes.
Process the paperwork for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Family Supportive Work Program (FSWP) requests. This includes collecting the Certificate of Health Care Provider (CHP) form and the approval letter, ensuring that the staff has meet the minimum qualifications, then obtaining approval from General Counsel.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of business formats and office procedures.
Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Software including Work, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to organize and maintain files/records.
Ability to coordinate with other staff.
Ability to complete work in a timely manner.
Ability to use computers and computer programs.
PREFERRED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
A High School Diploma is required at the time of submission of the candidate profile.
A Valid Driver License.
Preference will be given to those who have experience working in HR/Personnel with the State of Florida.

If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
