DLA and Defense Agencies Business Developer

GDIT is seeking a DLA Business Development Director to focus on pursuing opportunities and growing business with its Defense Agencies sector. This Director will lead business development concentrated on DISA.

The position will support our Defense Division and allows a hybrid schedule for candidates located in the National Capital Region. This position is based out of our Falls Church, Virginia office.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Manage all aspects of account growth, new business development and customer relationship management across all levels within assigned accounts. Meet with customers to understand the customer territory—relative to portfolio of dealsDevelop a pipeline of new opportunities for assigned Sector or market segment Lead identification and qualification of new business opportunities that support the account plan, Sector growth goals, and submit targets, throughout the opportunity life cycle. Lead early development of win strategy during the Assessment Phase, prior to assignment of a Capture ManagerLead identification, qualification, and capture on select OTAs with assistance from the Defense CTO/SA.Execute call plans to collect information about particular opportunities; in collaboration with technical staff, proffers and tests potential solutions; qualifies opportunities; document customer meetings in Salesforce.  Meet with OEM vendors, other GD business units, and potential industry partners to collect information about opportunities and customersDevelop customer relationships, improve customer intimacyIdentifies competitors, assess strategic fit, assess OCIPrepare for and brief opportunities at formal gate reviews. Develop and brief Pursuit ReviewsProvide insight from customer point of view throughout opportunity life cycle.

Required Qualifications:

BS degree10+ years of Sales/BD/Capture/Proposal/ and/or operational experience within the DoD/DISARelationships with DLA stakeholders and Senior LeadershipExperience w\ Strategic PlanningMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearanceUS Citizenship required

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with CRM tools (e.g. SalesForce), SharePoint, and all MS Office applicationsDeep knowledge in at least one technical discipline, ie Cloud Services, Software Development, NetworksRelationships in additional Defense Agencies desired; DLA will be the primary growth responsibility for this role, but not the only agency
