Responsibilities
Operate a motor vehicle to deliver and pick up home medical respiratory equipment. Responsible for the delivery of the organization brand promise focusing on customer service and quality. Ensure the efficient and effective daily provision of respiratory services to clients within the product line.
Provide a consistent safe level of care to the patient by following all applicable policies and procedures concerning the care and treatment of patients.Assure quality care through ongoing continuous quality improvements. Identify quality issues and participate in the continuous quality improvement process as necessary.Responsible for the development and education of infection control policies and procedures for respiratory patients. Educate patients on the proper cleaning and disposal of respiratory supplies and equipment provided by the organization.Responsible for the delivery and setup of respiratory equipment to patients. Assure that oxygen concentrators, portable oxygen systems, conserving devices, BiPAPs, CPAPs, suction equipment and nebulizer setups are completed properly, timely and as requested. Provide education to patients on delivered equipment in accordance to manufacturer¿s guidelines as well as organization policy and procedures.Responsible for contacting the patient within 24 hours of oxygen equipment delivery for follow-up visit for all new oxygen patients. Assure that patient is contacted and an appointment is made for a home follow-up visit to be completed by a Respiratory Therapist. Document all patient refusals in the EMR system.Responsible for the education and competency review for all delivery personnel. Respiratory-related setups by Home Care Delivery Technicians are reviewed in the field and education on equipment is completed if needed. Complete competency reviews every year (at a minimum) and have signed by Patient Service Technician and Respiratory Therapist.Participate in the on-call rotation which includes taking after-hours calls for respiratory-related emergencies and responding in-person if necessary.Assist other staff members by completing various tasks as requested (i.e., coordinate deliveries/pickups with warehouse department) as needed. Complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency. Consistently demonstrate the ability to organize the workday by recognizing and establishing priorities and making use of downtime.Provide phone support as needed. Assure phone is answered in a courteous and professional manner and that messages are relayed to the appropriate person. Assure accurate and complete messages are taken.Provide clerical support as needed, including copying, filing and scanning documents. Assure copies, filing, mail and scanning into the EMR is completed timely.Respond to correspondence, email and voice mail on a consistent basis. Assure messages/issues are resolved and correspondence is worked on daily.Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Demonstrate flexibility with job responsibilities in all areas.Adheres to HMH's Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs. and stands a minimum of 8 hours a day.Qualifications
