Job Description
The Dock Worker/Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading trucks and completing all related paperwork. This role requires roughly 60% sitting, 30% standing-walking, and 10% sweeping-cleaning. Listed below are responsibilities of the Dock worker/material handler
ResponsibilitiesRead, understand, and follow the Bill of Lading (BOL) and/or Receiving Ledger.Utilize forklift to safely load and unload trucks and move received material to the proper location.Communicate with truck drivers regarding their loads and provide them with dock assignments.Complete receiving tags for each applicable load.Process shipping & receiving paperwork.Account for shipping tags by verifying them to the Packing List.Weigh material properly and compute weights by calculating gross, tare, and net weights.Ensure lids product and boxes are stable and properly labeled when shipping.Organize and maintain the storage area.Document all errors or problems associated with received loads.Assist production with machine and/or system operation when time permits.Participate in shift meetings and training sessions.Required SkillsExperience with sit down forklift, loading trucks, and unloading.Experience with Machine operation (2 years +).Material handling experience.Experience using RF scanner.Must have good record-keeping.Ability to stand for the duration of the shift outside of breaks.Ability to lift up to 65 lbs, not repetitively.Comfortable with heights (25 feet with harness).Must have steel-toed or composite-toed shoes.Shift & Pay1st shift: 7:30am to 4:00pm (Monday - Friday)3rd Shift 11:30pm – 8:00am, Sunday (night) – Thursday (night)$19Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This is a traditional manufacturing environment with systems that perform various tasks with plastics materials. The systems are large machines, some two stories high. The plant has some dust and noise, so hearing and eye protection is required. Employees must be willing to climb stairs or use an aerial lift to troubleshoot and fix jams. The facility can get hot in the summer and is comfortable but cool in the winter. Dock workers will spend most of their time on the outer wall of the facility, loading and unloading trucks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of the Park 100 area of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
