VCA Veterinary Specialists of the Valley (VSV) is an AAHA-accredited, 24-hour emergency/multi-specialty practice in Woodland Hills, California.

Compensation : $ 20 - $ 25 / hr. With a shift differential for overnight shifts.

VSV is a high volume, AAHA accredited, state-of-the-art specialty referral and 24-hour critical care hospital. Currently seeking applicants for a Doctor's Assistant:

Doctor's assistants have the opportunity to be a part of providing critical care services and excellent customer service while working alongside our veterinarians within a great learning environment. We are seeking highly organized individuals with strong multi-tasking and customer service skills. This position involves heavy communication with doctors, technicians, front office, and the clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Experience with computers and multi-line phone system is required. Current experience (within the last 2 years) in veterinary medicine, either as a DA or veterinary technician, is highly recommended. Experience in specialty medicine is a huge plus!

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Obtain initial patient histories from the clientsCreate and present financial estimates, enter charges, and give financial updates to clients. Client communication and educationPerform client/patient follow-up phone callsCreate and process prescription refills Call primary veterinarians for medical recordsFax medical recordsUpload xraysAct as a service coordinator Review discharge instructions with clientsComplete lab submission formsChaperone clients during visits

This is a full-time position that utilizes four 10-hour shifts per week. Available schedules do include working weekend and holiday shifts.

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
