Document Control Coordinator

Job Description Summary:

The Document Control Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Document Control team, to include, maintaining the classified accountability system, ensuring proper markings are applied, issuing receipts, dispatching and dispositioning classified material in accordance with the standards and regulations outlined in the 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and Draper Policy and Procedures Manual. Ensure data integrity within the accountability systems and provide security education and awareness training to ensure personnel are properly educated on the proper method of marking, handling, generating, storing and transmitting classified materials.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

Assist in the day-to-day operations of Draper's document control function, provide guidance and implement changes as necessary.

Ensure day-to-day accuracy of the classified accountability system by properly tracking, receipting, dispatching and disposition all classified material.

Support all classified material by means of; preparing, marking, transferring ownership (internal and external), destroying, reproducing, couriering, inventorying, recording and filing all transactions.

Prepare and review incoming and outgoing classified documents and media to confirm efficient processing while ensuring accuracy.

Assist in creating, documenting and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for all Draper's Document Control responsibilities.

Assist with reviewing existing processes to enable the operation to modernize and utilize technological efficiencies.

Review audits, assist with documenting any findings and provide detailed results to Security management in a timely manner.

Manage and destroy classified materials using disintegrating, degaussing equipment and maintain associate destruction records.

Provide assistance, when needed, to the Industrial Security and Mail Services functional areas.

Remain current on all DoD policies and procedures by successfully completing online courses and other training sessions.


Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of the 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).

Accuracy with a strong attention to detail.

Strong oral and written communication skills as well as good organization.

Ability to multi-task and work well diverse teams of individuals.

Proficiency with marking and protecting classified material.

Service oriented with the ability to work under pressure.

Self-starter and work well with all levels of management and staff.

Proficiency in business and government software applications such as MS Office, SIMS, and NISS.


Education
High school degree or equivalent

Experience

Requires 1 – 3 years of security related experience.
