Document Imaging HIM Rep 2 - Remote
Overview This is a remote position. The hours are 7:30AM to 4:00PM or 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a strong foundation in medical records documents. This position is responsible for HIM functions supporting the completeness, integrity, and privacy of medical record documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Responsibilities focus on reviewing documents that have been faxed, scanned, and indexed into the patients’ health and business record to ensure accuracy. Responsibilities Job Description Job Expectations: Reviews indexed documents daily to the appropriate order, encounter, or office visit in the electronic medical record with the correct document type and appropriate description according to protocol. Performs review and/or QA process on scanned, prepped, and indexed documents prior to final posting in EHR. Monitors error queues, identifies and resolves causes of errors, and completes error tracking reports. Uses critical thinking to identify and resolve issues. Completes special projects as needed. Understands and adheres to Revenue Cycle’s Escalation Policy. Contributes to the process of or enablement of collecting expected payment by ensuring health records are available in a timely manner and contains the required elements for downstream Revenue Cycle workflows and to meet regulatory requirements. Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making. Communicates in a respective manner. Ensures a safe, secure environment. Individualizes plan of care to meet patient and dneeds. Modifies clinical interventions based on population served. Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver. Fulfills all organizational requirements. Completes all required learning relevant to the role. Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education Associates degree in health information management or related field. Two years of experience in an applicable health information management department may substitute for an associate degree Required Experience Two years in Health Information Management, medical office, or comparable work experience or education. 10 key proficiency with 30 KPM minimum. Working knowledge in EHR and/or scanning/imaging processes.
