**Required Skills:**
Documentation Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Turn technical information into engaging language, partnering with Meta designers, researchers, and engineers to plan and create the technical content for Meta products.
2. Create and maintain internal and external technical documentation for technologies and tools used within Meta to make them easier to use for non-technical users.
3. Define and drive technical documentation projects, and work prototype hardware in test environments to design, write, and edit technical and process documentation.
4. Perform system research and obtain the necessary technical information from subject matter experts and then translate it into clear, concise, structured documentation.
5. Work closely with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of the technical content.
6. Annotate systems and develop concise content and guidelines for annotators.
7. Create technical documentation for multiple platforms such as web, iOS, and Android to create and maintain code sample fragments and sample apps.
8. Responsible for planning, writing, editing, testing, and improving content including interface language, product education materials, product names, navigational nomenclature and other guideline materials.
**Minimum Qualifications:**

9. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Technical Writing, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or related field, and three years of experience in the job offered or in a technical writing- related occupation. Requires three years of experience in the following:
10. 1. Writing, technical documentation, and/or developer outreach for a developer audience or equivalent experience
11. 2. Programming language such as JavaScript, Objective-C, Java, PHP, or Python
12. 3. Experience writing, proofreading and editing
13. 4. Experience independently defining and driving technical documentation projects
14. 5. Experience with authoring tools such as XML, HTML, Markdown, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
15. 6. Experience producing and organizing content with a logical flow
16. 7. Experience programming, using the command-line, trying out user interfaces, and working with prototype hardware in test environments and
17. 8. Experience meeting multiple deadlines
**Public Compensation:**
$164,836/year to $194,700/year + bonus + equity + benefits
