Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a DoD Public Relations Specialist for one of our largest defense clients in Warren, MI in a hybrid role 2 days a week onsite. This person will serve as a technical authority, subject matter expert, and point of contact for communciation issues (not act as an agent or employee of the Government). The applicant shall integrate daily internal activities by developing, documenting, and following the established office management and administrative procedures outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures contained within the organization. The applicant shall conduct near- and long-term strategic planning and strategic communications with organizational leaders and other parties such as Department of the Army offices, Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)), external PEOs, stakeholders, and applicable Government contractors. They will also plan, direct, and execute strategic communication campaigns for the organization, while measuring communication results and incorporate refinements into future communication strategies. Other responsbilites include:
- Planning, developing, and executing organizational, program specfic Strategic Communciation Plans based on organizational leadership guidance, and brief plans to senior leaders including ASA (ALT) and Office of the Chief Legislative Liaison
- Coordinate closely with organizational subject-matter-experts to ensure communication materials convey accurate and timely content, which supports executive engagements with both internal and external audiences, including those at top-levels of Government
- Other support includes public inquiries responses, media, congressional inquiries, web content management, event management/coordination, and exhibit operations.
$20/hr to $38/hr : Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages while on contract for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and Requirements
- 7+ years of experience working in public communications / public affairs or related field (Can flex on years of experience dependent on education degree level)
- 5+ years of experience supported a tracked/wheeled combat vehicle program valued more than $480 Million (ACAT I) in a role supporting media question and public affairs processes
- 5+ years of experience supporting a Major Army Weapon System valued more than $185 Million (ACAT II) and Army Public Affairs staff procedures
- 5+ years of experience within the DoD or an Army PEO/PM in a position required to interface and coordinate with higher level DoD public affairs staff agencies, specifically: ASA (AL&T) and Office of the Chief Legislative Liaison (OCCLL) and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)
- 5+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Bachelor's degree minimum
- Active Interim or Secret Clearance OR has the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance - Active Interim or Secret Clearance null
