DOD SkillBridge connects transitioning service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences. SkillBridge Eligibility: + Have 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge + Have at least 180 continuous days of active service + Received Unit Commander's (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship + Agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate Compensation and Benefits: SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from COLSA during their internship as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. Opportunities for follow-on employment might be possible. COLSA's Skillbridge participants may serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into COLSA.
