About the Position:
The Career Coach provides directs of casework services to DOL Pathway Home program participants, including but not limited to intake, needs assessment, the development of case management plans, and treatment progress monitoring.

Hourly Range: $22.00 - $24.00

What You Will Do:

+ Work with Amity Students, on core competencies that include workforce development soft skills, motivational interviewing, denial management, relapse prevention, crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.
+ Provide all programming components and all other services including Job Development DOL Pathway Home participants.
+ Serve as mentors to participants, providing weekly 1:1 and small group mentoring focused on topics like problem solving, coping mechanisms, and life issues, resume building,
+ Conduct initial intake and needs assessments for all participants assigned to caseload.
+ Prepare, review, and update Individual Development Plan (IDP) for participants assigned to caseload.
+ Develop and monitor the participant's progress relative to their IDP through all phases of the program and confer regularly with Community Based Organizations (CBO) concerning program progress and transition planning.
+ Assist participants with applying for full-time employment when they conclude paid work experience.
+ Assist participants to apply, enroll, and seek financial aid with colleges and universities.
+ Document all progress and all services provided in the participants' files including employment effort/status, individual and group counseling, case conference results, referral services, and disciplinary information.
+ Responsible for data entry using Apricot System for all participants through all phases of the program.
+ Meet with mentors quarterly to align mentoring support with the participants IDP.
+ Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies as necessary.
+ Develop discharge and post-completion plans appropriate to IDP.
+ Maintain collaborative relationships evidenced by effective communication with Program Coordinator, CBOs, and DOL Pathway Home participants.
+ Maintain comprehensive case records and accurate statistical information for GO participants and services, including all the required elements of the IDP.
+ Development of IDP at participant's arrival, ensuring goals, objectives, and target needs are based on assessment(s) results. Participate in IDP review participant in caseload.
+ Attending workshops, meetings, and training as requested by supervisor.
+ May serve as Community Advocate role in addition to job as requested by community leadership.
What You Will Bring:
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field; OR High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years’ experience working with criminal justice or related population.
Preferred:
+ Experience with counseling justice involved individuals in a prison or similar setting.
Certifications or Licenses:
Required: Valid CA Drivers License
+ Must have a valid California driver's license and be eligible for Amity vehicle insurance.

+ Skills/Abilities:
+ Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of long-term incarceration; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of incarceration.
+ Recognition of the importance of individual differences created by personalities, cultures, lifestyles, social networks, and other factors that influence behavior.
+ Operational knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access
+ Ability to prioritize competing tasks with multiple deadlines.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in the community and within the organization.
+ Demonstrate ethical behavior to maintain professional standards and safeguard the participant.
+ Participate in community-building activities as appropriate to the position.
+ Protect program participants' health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records and participant information.
+ As a condition of employment with Amity, a job offer will not be binding upon Amity until and unless Amity and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (“CDCR”) obtain satisfactory results from its investigation into your background
