Summary:

The Donor Engagement and Grant Specialist for the Riverside Healthcare Foundation will be responsible for prospect donor engagement, corporate and event sponsorships, as well as grant writing/award stewardship. This position will connect with prospective and first-time donors, identifying philanthropic connections with Riverside services. The specialist will collaborate with Riverside’s Grant Administrator for writing, implementing, and stewarding health system grant awards. This includes overseeing a portfolio of corporate and government grant awards. This position will seasonally procure event sponsorships. The specialist will work in tandem with the Foundation’s Major Gift Officer to develop collateral material, support stewardship activity and moves management. This role requires a dynamic professional who is an effective verbal and written communicator, is a multitasker who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and is a self-starter who excels in a team driven environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering relationships through phone and face-to-face conversations while managing a calendar of written projects.

 Required Education and Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Experience: One to three years of grant writing and at least one year of direct fundraising experience preferred.

· Skills and Competencies:

o Ability to relate to and inspire a wide variety of people.

o Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Duties

· Donor Engagement: Has initial conversation with prospective and new donors. Identifies next engagement with foundation (annual giving, events, major gifts, family foundation, memorial, scholarship) and bridges relationship to appropriate team member.

· Grant Writing: Identifies, writes, accepts, and reports on health system grant and subcontracted awards. Has oversight of a portfolio of existing private foundation, corporate gifts, and government subcontracted awards. For existing grants in stewardship, position will manage project reporting, work with healthcare leaders to capture project success stories and identify renewal processes.

· Event and Corporate Sponsorships: Engage and steward corporate donors for events. Support Director in hosting Foundation special events and represent Riverside at community events.

· Major Gift Support: Develops collateral material (e.g. one-page project summaries), donor research support, and donor engagement.

· Recognition, Gardens and Community: Support recognition strategies with Donor Relations Manager that celebrate donor contributions and enhance their connection to Riverside’s mission. Support Director with garden, paver, and donor wall update requests.

Additional Duties:

· Assist with other fundraising and development activities as required to support the overall goals of the Riverside Healthcare.

· Perform additional tasks as assigned, including special projects that contribute to the success of Riverside Healthcare.

· Use Foundation database to add notes from donor engagement, pull reports, and backup Foundation Operations Specialist with record entry as needed.
