Position Summary:
With direction from President of Saint Mary's Foundation, develops engagement strategies and manages portfolio of mid-level giving donors through personalized communication, cultivating their interest in the organization's mission, and strategically managing their giving journey through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities, with overall goal to increase philanthropic revenue and donor retention. Develops and implements comprehensive donor stewardship strategy that provides experiences that are informative, meaningful, and compelling. Coordinates the production of effective stewardship communications and reports (both annual and ad hoc). Develops tailored donor correspondence to help ensure that donors stay connected and feel appreciated.
What the Donor Relations and Engagement Officer will need:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field such as event planning, public relations, communications, marketing, or advertising.2-3 years experience in related event planning, fundraising or project management experience.Must be organized with high attention to details. Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience with strong customer relations.Experience with project/event management preferredAbility to stand, reach, twist, bend, crouch, and squat.Ability to lift 40 lbs.What the Donor Relations and Engagement Officer will do:
With direction from Saint Mary’s Foundation President and in collaboration with Manager of Philanthropy Services and Prospect Development, identifies and manages a portfolio of mid-level giving prospects ($500-$5,000 annually) and develops engagement strategies for such prospects including appeals, engagement events, or giving circles/donor groups.Develops and implements donor stewardship plan to showcase culture of philanthropy at Trinity Health Grand Rapids, support major gift performance and increase donor loyalty. Oversees overall stewardship efforts including plans for communicating impact of giving, events for donor appreciation and creating personalized and meaningful experiences for our donors. Participates in scheduled meetings to review major gift and corporate portfolios.Develops and manages colleague/volunteer/physician/retired associates giving campaign that builds a culture of gratitude and giving across the organization.Communicates and collaborates with Foundation Board members and other volunteers, donors, public relations and marketing departments of health care system, community and business leaders, vendors, and other professional regarding various aspects of donor relations and stewardship.In coordination with the Manager, Philanthropy Communications, manages development of collateral materials for all accountable projects. Works with contracted designer, Trinity Health marketing team, and Trinity Health public relations/communications team to assure alignment with branding strategy for health care system.Recommends and implements new creative methods for enhancing donor/prospect experiences including increasing revenue, decreasing expenses, targeting, and attracting specific audiences. Monitors industry trends.Supports the CRM data teams in formatting and assembling ad hoc gift reports. Participates in data services projects related to special or timely donor record maintenance.Contributes stewardship and donor relations focus to enhance comprehensive social media strategy that promotes effective stewardship, attracts new donors, retains and/or upgrades giving from donors, and showcases impact of giving.Practices and demonstrates extraordinary stewardship to all donors and volunteers.Provides exceptional customer service while anticipating and exceeding needs of customers.Performs other duties as assigned.Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
