We are the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. This Position: The Dorm Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of employee housing. This includes maintaining the cleanliness of the public areas and dorm rooms, cleaning the laundry rooms, and deep cleaning employee housing upon check-out. Specific job duties include the following: + Empty outside garbage cans daily - able to lift 50 lbs. repetitively up and out of trash receptacle + Vacuum halls of dorm buildings on a regular basis + Clean common areas and communal restrooms in dor + Clean vacated dorm rooms including but not limited to: Dusting and cleaning all surfaces in room, mirrors, high corners, doors, baseboards, ledges, under furniture, and window areas Cleaning inside of all dressers, shelving units, nightstands Deep cleaning mini refrigerator and microwave in room Removing dirty linens and replacing with fresh linens Deep cleaning showers, toilets, and sinks in restrooms Sweeping and mopping the bedroom and bathroom + Reporting any maintenance needs of rooms or public areas to HR contac + Keep laundry room clean including the following: wiping down all washers and dryers cleaning lint out of lint trays, corners and edges of floors and walls, all sides of dryers sweeping and mopping the floors emptying the garbage taking care of any lost and found items. Supervisory Responsibilities None Requirements Required Skills/Abilities + Strong verbal communication skills. + Reliable, on time, and ready for every shift. + Show initiative and be results-driven + Strong collaboration and time management skills. Required Education and Experience + Must be able to work independently. + Strong oral communication skills. + Must be able to take directions. + Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds Work Environment This position is mostly in an outdoors environment, with some duties taking place inside. Indoor settings will be in a controlled, temperate environment while outdoor conditions may be in a hotter or colder climate, especially at the Medora Musical. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
